Employment and education:
Maggie graduated from 69风流 with her Associates in Arts, English & humanities then went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in communication/radio from Columbia College, Chicago. She is now a sales training manager for Constellation Brands.
How has 69风流 impacted your life?
I attribute much of my success to the time I spent at 69风流. The educators gave me more than just an academic education. They taught me ways to apply the things I learned into my every day life. I am proud of the work I did there, the friendships I made and maintain with fellow students and professors, and the degree I earned.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
I am living a life I love. My experiences and education have led me down a winding path to find a career I feel I was meant to have. Constellation Brands is a very successful beer supplier and a fantastic company to work for and I continue to learn every day. It is the perfect fit for me and my family.
Was there an 69风流 professor, advisor, staff member or fellow student who made an impression on you or helped you?
There are so many that made a difference in my life. Mary Wheeler taught me the value of hard work & an appreciation for literature in the every day that I still experience. Claire Gordon showed me the power of my words, my presence, and how to convey a message in front of a large crowd of people as one of the class of 2000 commencement speakers. Barb Lanham grew my appreciate of music and the arts. Chris McDonald taught me the importance of understanding a global view of politics and economics. Jim Murray taught me history can be fun (he told our honors class that if we could write the history of art in rhyming couplets, he鈥檇 give us an A. I did, and he did!), and I can be a leading lady (Pippin). I have so many more memories of the fantastic teachers there and the way they pushed us to be better people.
Additionally, the friendships with faculty and students that I鈥檝e made and maintained have been a wonderful thing over the last *ahem* years. Carmen Ward (Dallavis), Tracey Thompsan (McNeely), among so many others.
Has Lincoln Land been a part of your family tradition?
We have moved out of the area, but my mom took Chris McDonald鈥檚 poli sci class!
What did you like about 69风流 or what is your favorite 69风流 memory?
I have so many, from speaking at our commencement, to Student Senate, the Honors Program, Phi Theta Kappa, so many fond memories there.
