Student Clubs & Organizations

Student clubs and organizations address a variety of interests and are categorized as one of the following: academic excellence, academic/professional, arts/entertainment, cultural, general interest, political, regional, religious and social issues/service.

Students can request to establish a new club on campus if it is determined there is an interest that is not currently being met by existing groups. Students interested in forming new clubs should visit 69�� Student Engagement & Wellbeing in the lower level of Menard Hall or email StudentLife@llcc.edu.

Organizations

Student Government Association

The 69�� Student Government Association is the official governing council for the student body and provides recognition for all student clubs and organizations on campus. The SGA is comprised of representatives, five officers and one student trustee. Members attend various leadership conferences and retreats each year and serve on numerous institutional committees. The SGA coordinates various awareness events and sponsors the Logger of the Month program.

Clubs

Agriculture Club

Fosters interaction among students in the various agriculture programs, provide educational and competitive opportunities and encourage career development.

Biology Club

This club is open to any student interested in scientific and environmental issues. It aims to provide education on environmental, biological, geographical and geological issues; conduct environmental conservation and preservation through volunteer work, participate in field trips; and promote a green campus.

Black Student Union

Aims to improve and unite all aspects of student life; to gain better representation of Black students in student activities, college policies and issues; and to establish relationships with other minority students at secondary and college level institutions.

Chemistry Club

The club serves as a forum for students interested in chemistry. The organization encourages discussions, explorations of chemistry-related professions and facilitates a better understanding of the chemical science.

Christian Student Fellowship

This club exists to cultivate a Christ-centered community where students can find a place to belong, grow in their faith and become equipped to lead others.

Film Club

Encourages students to express themselves through the creative media of film.

Games Club

Provides an opportunity for members to socialize and have fun and to promote campus interest in games of all kinds, including board games, card games, role-playing games and computer games.

Gay-Straight Alliance

Assists and provides support for individuals who have coming out or sex-related health issues and the education of Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender/Transsexual (GLBTT) and others about sexual and sexuality related issues.

Honors Club

The 69�� Honors Club participates in service, educational, social and fundraising activities.

Intervarsity Christian Fellowship

Intervarsity is a student club and campus ministry.

IV Leaguers Student Nursing Club

IV Leaguers is not a club just for nursing students, it is a club for any student that believes in promoting health awareness, on campus and in the community. Providing leadership, education about health care, community volunteering and making lasting friendships along the way.

Jacksonville Activities Board

Encourages participation in leadership and student pride, plans activities and events within the college and community that will best represent the majority of all students, and interacts and encourages participation of all students.

Litchfield Student Club

The mission is to provide opportunities for its members to develop leadership skills, promote student fellowship as well as provide service to the community. It is their goal to allow students attending 69��-Litchfield to experience student life similar to that on main campus. Membership in Litchfield Student Club (LSC) is open to all 69��-Litchfield students.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

Phi Theta Kappa is the foremost honor society recognizing academic excellence in two-year college students. Its goals include promoting scholarship, leadership, fellowship and service amongst members. Benefits of membership include access to Phi Theta Kappa scholarships. Our 69�� chapter has a strong history of service projects benefiting both the College and the Central Illinois community.

Student Radiographers Association

Improves student knowledge and skill in their chosen field by participating in Radiography Scholar Bowls and similar competitions held at various state-level conferences, promotes the profession of medical radiography at the student level by providing fundraising to assist students with professional fees related to student professional activities, encourages student participation in leadership and student pride within 69�� and conducts community service activities.

Student Sonographers Association

Working together to promote the diagnostic medical sonography profession at the student level.

TRIO and Friends

Promoting academic excellence and holistic well-being to all students both in the TRIO program and not.
