Neil is retired and served as Sheriff of Sangamon County. He received his AAS from 69·çÁ÷ and his Bachelor of Science from Western Illinois University.
How has Lincoln Land Community College impacted your life?
69·çÁ÷ definitely had a great impact on my life! I would not have gone to college had 69·çÁ÷ not been there in the fall of 1968. I went on to finish my degree at WIU.
What is your greatest accomplishment(s)?
I was named Illinois Crime Stopper Coordinator of the Year three times. In 1994, I was named International Crime Stopper Coordinator of the Year. I proudly was elected five times and served the residents of Sangamon County as sheriff.
Was there a professor, advisor, staff member or fellow student who made an impression on you or helped you when you were here at 69·çÁ÷?
Counselors Ms. Davis and Mr. Coop, as well as instructor, Ralph Gies.
What advice do you have for current or future 69·çÁ÷ students?
Take advantage of all that 69·çÁ÷ has to offer. You can save money and receive a quality education while staying close to home.
What did you like about 69·çÁ÷ or what is your favorite 69·çÁ÷ memory?
Great teachers, small class sizes, able to stay home and work. All my credits transferred to WIU and helped me for a career in law enforcement.
