There is something for everyone!

This summer College for Kids (CFK) will offer more than 60 camps for students entering Grades 1-10.

New this year — we are offering camps at 69-Jacksonville! 

Camps are organized by the grade your child will be entering in for the 2025-2026 school year. Select the grade level your child will be entering in the 2025-2026 school year to view the drop down list of offerings available and click the green button to register.

  • Camps are designed for students entering the grades listed.
  • Camps start June 9 and run through July 24.
  • Camps meet Monday through Thursday.  
  • Morning sessions are held 9 a.m. to noon.  
  • Afternoon sessions are held 1-4 p.m.

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Campers will learn how to plant flowers, veggies and herbs, with hands-on activities like building their own mini garden plots, crafting fun garden decorations and pots. They’ll get to explore the life cycle of a plant from seed to sprout and watch their hard work come to life in the garden. Make sure to dress for mess! We’ll be getting down and dirty.

Enter the world of fossils and dinosaurs! Become an amateur paleontologist while studying the past and examining the physical remains of what was left behind over 11,000 years ago! We will have an opportunity to excavate and put together dinosaur “bones” as well as excavate real fossils!

Honey Bees: The Superhero of the World’s Food Supply

The western honeybee and other pollinators are responsible for one third of the world’s food. Join other environmental thinkers in learning more about the honeybee’s role in preserving our food supply and how they structure their colony to guarantee success. Learn how they set up their house so every bee has a job. Do a hive inspection with experienced beekeepers. Build an insect cage to study the diversity of bugs in our neighborhood. Pour beeswax candles. Make seed bombs to provide more pollination opportunities for bees.

Math Magicians (Grade 6-8)

A mysterious machine sets the scene for this camp. Interact with this mysterious machine to discover the notion of place value with different bases. Learn to use the mysterious machine to perform basic mathematical operations on numbers in different bases including binary numbers. Discuss the history of numbers and how they are applied to computer code. Discover how the machine can be used to gain an advantage when attempting to solve puzzles.

Camp GOTR combines the best of Girls on the Run with all the fun of camp! During this session, incoming 3rd-5th grade girls will build friendships in a fun and inclusive setting that includes interactive games, being physically active and expressing creativity through art and crafts and storytelling. Led by caring and qualified Girls on the Run coaches, Camp GOTR provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for girls to develop self-confidence, learn life skills they can use now and as they grow and have fun with friends.

Drop Off/Pick Up

Where do I drop off and pick up my student?

  • 69-Springfield (main campus) — All students must be signed in and out at the 69 main campus, Trutter Center Building, 5250 Shepherd Rd. Springfield. View campus map.

When can I drop off and pick up my student?

  • Morning camps — Sign in is 8:45-9 a.m. Sign out begins at noon. All students must be picked up by 12:15 p.m.
  • Afternoon camp — Sign in is 12:45-1 p.m. Sign out begins at 4 p.m. All students must be picked up by 4:15 p.m.

Who can drop off my student?

  • Anyone that you trust may sign your child in to camp/class.

Who can pick up my student?

  • We will only release your student to those you have authorized on the registration form.

Someone not on my authorized list needs to pick up my child. How do I notify you?

What should my student bring to camp each day?

  • Please send your student dressed appropriately with a water bottle and small snack.
  • Culinary students should wear long pants and closed toe shoes and tie back long hair.
  • Workforce Career Explorers should wear long pants and closed toe shoes.
  • Gardening and Bee camps will spend time outdoors; dress appropriately.

What should my student not bring to camp/class each day?

  • Please do not send your student with medication, valuables or lunch.

What should I do if my student takes medication?

  • All medication should be brought in a labeled and sealed container. A signed permission slip is required before medication can be administered by camp staff.

What should I do if my student has allergies — food or other?

  • Please indicate if your student has any allergies on the registration form. Instructors will be notified of the allergy.

Where is the lost and found located?

  • The lost and found is located in the Trutter Center at check in/out.

Registration/Refunds/Cancellations

What is the registration process?

  1. Complete the registration form provided on our webpage. Note: your registration is not complete until payment has been collected.
  2. Staff will call to collect payment within three business days of receiving your form.
  3. You will receive an email confirmation of your registration within 10 days of payment.

Is there an extended day/lunch option?

  • We do not currently provide an extended day or lunch option. Students registered for morning and afternoon camps must have an authorized adult pick them up or supervise them between camps.
