Students seeking admission to the 69风流 Honors Program must meet the following requirements:
- High academic achievement as demonstrated by high school transcript and class rank, ACT test scores (25 or higher), awards and honors.
- Students who have already earned any credits at 69风流, including dual credit classes taken during high school, must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher on their 69风流 transcript.
All students who meet the eligibility requirements are encouraged to participate.
Application
New 69风流 students can apply to enter the Honors Program through the .
Students will be asked to submit the following:
- Two letters of recommendation from former or current high school teachers or college instructors.
- A 300-500 word essay explaining personal and career goals, and in what way participation in the Honors Program will help reach those goals.
- List of awards, honors, and other accomplishments.
Students may be admitted to the Honors Program at any time. After admission to the program, students will attend an orientation covering the program.
Application to the Honors Program and Honors Scholarship are related but separate. All scholarship recipients must also be accepted to the program, but being accepted to the program does not guarantee or imply a scholarship.
The two-part application to the program and the scholarship is made via the 69风流 Foundation scholarship application from Nov. 15-Feb. 15 for the following academic year starting in August. Applicants are reviewed for acceptance to the program. Once approved, they are entered into consideration for the Foundation Honors Scholarship and other scholarships for which they are eligible. Participation in the Honors Program is not dependent upon having a scholarship. Receipt of the scholarship does require participation in the program. Decisions on the program and scholarships are made in April of each academic year.
Courses & Grade Point Average
Honors students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and take Honors Seminar (HON 101) in their first term and at least one corresponding course for honors credit per academic year to remain in the Honors Program. Students can register for any section of a course that has been part of HON 101. As an example, if biology is a module in HON 101, then a student may choose any 69风流 biology course and it will count toward the honors requirements.
Completion
Honors students are required to complete a minimum of five honors courses totaling at least 15 hours to finish the program. In order to earn honors credit, students must receive a grade of C or higher in an honors-designated course.
