In the movement toward reduced occurrences of sexual violence, governing bodies across the nation have joined together as forces united in fostering an environment where it is expressly clear that gender-based violence, and the stereotypes, stigma and misconceptions surrounding this crime, have no place in our society. The United States Federal Government, Illinois State Government, and Lincoln Land Community College Board of Trustees have formed and adopted comprehensive policies outlining focused efforts to prevent sexual assault and violence. Lincoln Land Community College Board Policy
69风流 Board Policy 1.25 outlines the College's expectations of a learning environment free from sexual violence, dating violence, domestic violence and stalking. This policy declares the college's commitment to a safe and secure educational environment, explains jurisdiction over alleged violations of the policy, and clearly defines prohibited conduct.
69风流 Board Policy 1.7 outlines the procedures for reporting incidents of sexual harassment, other harassment or discrimination as well as the procedures for adjudicating such reports. It should be noted that incidents of sexual violence, dating violence, domestic violence and/or stalking constitute forms of sexual harassment and can be reported in accordance with this policy.
Illinois General Assembly
On Aug. 21, 2015, Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner signed House Bill 821, the Preventing Sexual Violence in Higher Education Act, into law. This law follows suit of the federal government's legislation focusing on the role of higher education institutions in preventing sexual assault and violence. The Preventing Sexual Violence in Higher Education Act requires that institutions of higher education provide confidential advisors for victims of sexual assault, provide annual reports to the Department of Human Rights and the Office of the Attorney General, and establish or participate in a campus-wide or regional task force focused on preventing sexual violence and coordinating with the community and the institution to provide services for survivors of sexual violence.
