
69·çÁ÷ offers career exploration and preparation to earn college credit toward a certificate or degree with the support of caring career/technical education and basic skills instructors, student support services and a transition advisor. Each step in career exploration and preparation is designed to prepare students for the next level of education and employment.
- Programs use a team-teaching approach, giving students the support of a career and technical education instructor and basic skills instructor.
- Students have access to ongoing advising/counseling and support services.
- Students complete a career interest survey and participate in career planning.
- The programs are designed for students to earn college credits and at least one credential, certificate and/or degree.
Career Exploration

Career exploration is also known as a bridge for college and career readiness. Classes are free and assist students in learning more about a specific career or pathway. Classes will also provide information on top jobs in the industry, education, training requirements and work environments. Classes will help students:
- Learn and strengthen current employability skills.
- Prepare for success in credit bearing classes, certificate programs or the workplace.
- Improve math, reading, writing and digital literacy skills for that industry.

Career Preparation
Career preparation, also known as ICAPS or skill building courses are free classes that pair directly with an 69·çÁ÷ certificate or degree program. These courses help set students up for success in their programs by:

- Teaching employability skills needed for the degree or certificate.
- Improving math, reading, writing and digital literacy skills.
- Learning soft skills like teamwork, time management, study and test taking skills for degree or certificate completion.
