SPRINGFIELD – Lincoln Land Community College’s new student trustee was sworn into office at the May 25, 2022 meeting of the 69·çÁ÷ Board of Trustees.
Giles Harris-Patel of Springfield, a second-year student majoring in English, will represent students on the 69·çÁ÷ Board of Trustees through April of 2023.
Harris-Patel will serve alongside the seven elected trustees who represent residents of the college district and set policy to ensure 69·çÁ÷ is meeting their educational needs.
His academic plans include transferring to a four-year university after graduating from 69·çÁ÷, and then pursuing a law degree with a career goal of international law.
He succeeds Meghan Hadden, who served as the previous year’s student trustee.
