SPRINGFIELD — The Lincoln Land Community College Board of Trustees welcomed a new student trustee on Wednesday, April 24.

Braden Nicoll of Springfield took the oath of office for a one-year term as student trustee on the 69·çÁ÷ Board of Trustees.
Nicoll, a freshman, is a member of 69·çÁ÷’s Honors Program, Phi Theta Kappa and Black Student Union. Currently a certified medical assistant, Nicoll plans on earning his associate of applied science degree in nursing and then continuing his education to become a pediatric nurse practitioner.
Nicoll was elected by the student body. 69·çÁ÷ Board Chair Gordon Gates read a resolution in honor of retiring student trustee Rayna Herzog of Springfield.
Eight individuals serve on the 69·çÁ÷ Board of Trustees, seven elected from the college district and the eighth elected from among 69·çÁ÷ students. Trustees represent residents of the college district to assure that the college is providing programs and services that meet the educational needs of the communities it serves.
