69-Jacksonville to host community scholarship event Jan. 24

JACKSONVILLE — Lincoln Land Community College in Jacksonville, located at 32 N. Central Park Plaza, will host a community scholarship information and FAFSA completion event on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 3-6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

“All those interested in a two-year or four-year degree, health care careers or workforce training are invited to attend this free event,” explains Keri Mason, director of 69-Jacksonville. “Students and their families will be able to get informational materials on local scholarships and ask any questions they may have.”

From 4:30-5:30 p.m., attendees can visit an exhibit area with local community organizations providing information on various scholarships. Participating organizations include the 69 Foundation, Workforce Equity Initiative and Pipeline for the Advancement of the Healthcare Workforce; Jacksonville Promise; Jacksonville Rotary Club; Cass County Farm Bureau Foundation; MCS Community Services; Illinois Electric Cooperative; Jacksonville Skilled Nursing; Elks Club; Harmony Masonic Lodge; Farm Credit Illinois; Beard Implement; Jacksonville Public School’s Foundation; Learning Disabilities Association of Illinois; and Daughters of the American Revolution.

Representatives from the 69 Foundation will be available to answer questions and provide scholarship application assistance from 3-6 p.m.

Families who would like assistance completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can schedule a 30-minute appointment between 3-6 p.m. to meet with an 69 financial aid professional.
